Tools and Tips for Advocacy
AACRE is in the process of developing various resources to enable groups and individuals find policy solutions to problems impacting underserved APIA communities. In addition to resources found on the legislative and budget process pages, below are several resources to assist in crafting viable proposals.
AACRE has developed a set of general questions to guide the process of identifying a policy solution.
Once you have identified a legislative or budget proposal to advocate for, one of the easiest ways to communicate your message is to set up a visit with your legislative member and his/her staff. AACRE has some tips for conducting a legislative visit.
AACRE also conducts trainings that provide an overview of the legislative/budget processes and outline advocacy tips for groups of community members. If you or your community group are interested, please contact AACRE at 916.321.9001.
